ITS Campus, ITS News — The 36th National Student Scientific Week (Pimnas) competition series organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) officially ended Thursday (30/11) evening. On the award night, held at Universitas Padjadjaran, the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) contingent succeeded in winning 20 championship titles.
ITS won 19 team medals and one individual award category in this largest national student scientific competition. Through the 35 teams that competed in the final round, the ITS contingent won four gold medals, 10 silver medals and five bronze medals from the nine Student Creativity Program (PKM) categories that were contested. Obtaining this medal also brought ITS to fourth place in the best universities in this prestigious event.
The ITS team won one gold medal and three silver medals in the poster category. The gold medal was donated by the PKM Entrepreneurship team (PKM-K). Meanwhile, the PKM Social Humanities Research team (PKM-RSH) and the PKM Exact Research team (PKM-RE) won silver medals.
Furthermore, the ITS team secured three gold medals, seven silver medals, and five bronze medals in the presentation category. The PKM Video Creative Ideas (PKM-VGK), PKM Creative Initiatives (PKM-KC), and PKM-RE teams contributed to the gold medal winnings. The PKM-VGK, PKM-K, PKM-RSH, PKM-KC, and PKM RE teams won the silver medal. Meanwhile, the PKM Written Futuristic Ideas (PKM-GFT), PKM Innovative Work (PKM-KI), PKM-K, and PKM-RE teams won the bronze medal.
Not only team champions, ITS representatives also succeeded in winning the Individual Talented Student title. The newest category in the Pimnas event for the most active students during the judging session was won by Andry Prasetyo. This ITS Physics Department student is part of the ITS contingent competing in the PKM-KI field.
Responding to this proud achievement, the head of the ITS 2023 PKM Task Force, Muhammad Syifa’ul Mufid DPhil, greatly appreciated the entire contingent. Syifa’ul said that this achievement resulted from hard work, perseverance and dedication given optimally. “Even though there was limited time between the announcement and the final match, the ITS contingent still managed to produce the best results,” he said proudly.
This Mathematics Department lecturer hopes ITS can produce more winning talents, leading ITS to reclaim the overall champion title in the following year. Finally, in responding to the implementation of the 37th Pimnas, which will be held at Airlangga University later, Syifa’ul hopes that the allocation of transportation funds can be maximized for the coaching process. “To be more prepared and mature to achieve the highest title,” he concluded optimistically.
