ITS Campus, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) again opens the opportunity to become a new student candidate (camaba) in 2024 through the Mandiri selection path. This opportunity was conveyed through the Socialisation of the General Independent Path and Partnership which was held in a hybrid manner in the Main Session Room of the ITS Rectorate Building, Wednesday (29/5).
The event, which was mostly attended by school representatives, was a follow-up socialisation of the Independent Scholarship Pathway which has been open since 23 April. Head of the Admissions Sub-directorate of the ITS Directorate of Education Dr Eng Unggul Wasiwitono ST MEng Sc explained that this independent selection path can be a new opportunity for prospective students while waiting for the results of the National Selection Based Test (SNBT) announcement.
In this socialisation, Unggul explained the provisions, mechanisms and new schemes in the ITS Independent Selection. Namely, there are some fundamental differences from the provisions of the General Independent Selection and also the Partnership Independent Selection that must be considered for applicants. “There are two Independent pathway schemes, namely those intended for the general public and from the recommendation of ITS partner agencies,” explained Unggul.
Another case for prospective students who are interested in registering in the design clump, there is an additional requirement, namely a portfolio that will be an indicator of selection. The three study programmes that require this portfolio are Industrial Product Design (Despro), Visual Communication Design (DKV), and Interior Design from the Faculty of Creative Design and Digital Business (FDKBD) ITS.
On this occasion, Unggul also announced the opening of registration for two new study programmes, namely the Digital Business Study Programme and the newly launched Process Safety Engineering Study Programme (RKP). The existence of these two study programmes is one of ITS’ steps in responding to scientific demands in the era of digital technology and industrial downstreaming, especially in the field of manufacturing safety. “These two study programmes can be selected through the General and Partnership Independent Selection Pathways,” said Unggul.
Prospective students who later pass through the Independent Selection Path will be charged a Single Tuition Fee (UKT) which is divided into the top three groups of the UKT level set by ITS. Namely starting from group 7 of IDR 7,500,000, group 8 of IDR 10,000,000, and group 9 of IDR 12,500,000. Furthermore, there is an Institutional Development Fee (IPI) which must be paid by 50 per cent at the beginning of the semester and the rest in instalments in semesters 2 to 6. Complete information about this tuition fee can be seen on the its.ac.id/admission page.
Closing the socialisation session, Unggul explained that registration for the ITS General and Partnership Independent Selection has been opened since 28 May to 16 June 2024. Furthermore, the TKA test will be held on 22 and 23 June 2024, where the selection results will be announced on 8 July 2024. “I hope that prospective new students can make the most of this opportunity to become part of ITS,” he said hopefully.
