ITS Campus, ITS News — The achievements of civitas academica of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continue to shine brightly. This time, Takha Camilla Aisha Audyarahma, a student from the Department of Business Management, Faculty of Creative Design and Digital Business (FDKBD) ITS, secured first place in an international video competition titled WOWMOSCOW, held in Moscow, Russia, in mid-August.
Takha explained that WOWMOSCOW is an international short video competition organized by the Moscow City Tourism Committee in collaboration with the HSE Art and Design School. The competition targets creative individuals with brilliant ideas in filmmaking, particularly those related to promoting tourism in the city of Moscow. In this event, Takha outshined 293 participants from 12 countries. “Participants came from countries like China, Brazil, and India,” explained the class of 2020 student.
Takha explained that the concept of her video tells the story of someone trapped by their own thoughts. The person is so apathetic towards the outside world that they are unable to grow. One day, their body changes color to an unusual hue, which turns out to represent the city of Moscow. This event forces the individual to explore the city and ultimately awaken from the confines of their own mindset.
Takha shared that the concept of her video revolves around the importance of self-exploration and the surrounding environment, interspersed with messages promoting tourism in Moscow. Her skill in weaving each scene she conceptualized impressed the judges, earning her the top prize in the competition, which was held alongside the Festival and Forum titled Territory of the Future Moscow 2030.
After being awarded the championship for her video concept, the ITS student was given the opportunity to bring her idea to life. Over the course of one week, with assistance from the organizing team, Takha completed the pre-production, shooting, and post-production processes for the video. “It was an unforgettable yet nerve-wracking experience,” she remarked.
Takha shared that her short video was later showcased as part of the Moscow International Film Week, held at the amphitheater in Zaryadye Park, Moscow, on Saturday, August 24. In response to the screening, she revealed that her video garnered a lot of positive feedback from the audience. Not only from the invited guests but also from park visitors who were moved by her work. “Some were even brought to tears,” she remarked.
Takha that the message conveyed through her video can inspire others facing similar situations. Looking ahead, Takha plans to create more works that she hopes will bring value to others. “And, of course, I hope it will also benefit my career in the creative industry in the future,” Takha expressed.
