ITS Campus, ITS News — PT PAL Indonesia (an Indonesian naval engineering company) invites Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) to contribute actively to realizing Indonesia Emas 2045. At the PAL Goes to Campus event held at the ITS Postgraduate Hall Auditorium on Friday (6/9), ITS was requested to contribute through the fields of maritime, energy, and technology to support the success of this noble target.

In the Leader Talks session delivered by PT PAL Indonesia President Director Dr. Kaharuddin Djenod MEng, he strongly encouraged ITS to collaborate with PT PAL Indonesia in providing various visionary innovations to overcome the many problems in the maritime sector in Indonesia. The number of human resources (HR) in the marine field owned by ITS makes the largest shipyard company in Indonesia continue its cooperation in various maritime sectors.

The great need in the maritime sector’s security, resilience, and transportation sectors makes the two institutions committed to uniting to realize the noble target of all Indonesians, namely Indonesia Emas 2045. Utilizing Indonesia’s advantages in terms of maritime geography, PT PAL wants its collaboration with ITS to contribute directly to Indonesia’s naval world’s sustainability.

The man born in 1971 revealed that the maritime industry has become a key in the world economy so far. We must capitalize on this momentum and prosperous marine resources on the way to the next Indonesia Emas 2045 maritime power. “Together, these two agencies will achieve the target of aligning ourselves with East Asian countries in the maritime sector,” the man, usually called Djenod, said confidently.

In his presentation, Djenod also inspired the students in the audience with his vision to advance maritime civilization in Indonesia and emphasized the critical role of the younger generation in this effort. “Through innovation, dedication, and a deep understanding of our maritime heritage, we can take this nation forward,” he said optimistically.

The two agencies also agreed to open doors for students to gain hands-on experience in the industry through internships and final project research programs at PT PAL. This collaboration allows ITS students to learn directly from strategic projects at PT PAL, making the experience more meaningful and applicable.

Meanwhile, in his speech, the Dean of the ITS Faculty of Marine Technology, Dr. Eng Trika Pitana ST MSc, reminded him of the mandate Ir Soekarno gave when inaugurating ITS. The first president of the Republic of Indonesia mandated this Hero Campus to become a maritime center in Indonesia. “Looking at the current condition of ITS, all existing departments and faculties are also directed in that direction,” said the ITS Marine Engineering Department lecturer.

According to Trika, this event appropriately gives students insight into what is happening in Indonesia and what the challenges ahead will be. In addition, PT PAL Indonesia wants to involve universities such as ITS and industry to sustain and support development priorities in the process towards Indonesia Emas 2045.

So far, said Trika, the ITS campus has been trusted to be a pillar of maritime technology in Indonesia. Thus, the potential and opportunities to advance the Indonesian economy through the maritime sector are wide open. Reflecting on Korea, Japan, and China, the maritime industry is the forerunner of the growth of various other industries that move as a bridge in the advancement of a country.

Trika hopes this collaboration can help Indonesia realize its aspirations towards independence in the maritime and technology sectors. Through academic excellence and industrial expertise, this collaboration aims to produce quality human resources and can encourage the naval sector towards the target of Indonesia Emas 2045.
