ITS Campus, ITS News — To support the development of architectural innovation in Indonesia, the Department of Architecture at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) exposes the final works of architecture students throughout Indonesia in the 2024 Final Project Competition exhibition for four days, starting Tuesday (1/10). The exhibition, which was held in the hallway area of the ITS Architecture building, presented the best works of architecture students from 24 universities in Indonesia.
The Chief Executive of KTA 2024, Multazam Akbar Junaedi SArs MArs, said that this annual event, which is already in its 20th year, raises the theme of diversity and differences to be able to see the latest in architectural science. This open exhibition also presents 80 Final Project (TA) works from three different categories, namely Questioning Architecture, Design Thinking, and Architectural Contribution.
Through these three categories, the man who is familiarly called Akbar explained that visitors to the exhibition can get to know architecture and its development in Indonesia. In the Architectural Contribution category, visitors can find out how much architecture contributes to the surrounding environment. “In this category, we can find out pragmatic solutions from an architectural perspective for problems that exist in society,” said the ITS Architecture S1 alumnus.
Meanwhile, visitors can also observe various architectural innovations that can be applied in the future in the Question Architecture category. One of them is an innovation entitled Lunar Basecamp & Research Center which explains how architectural structures can be applied on the moon. “For the Design Thinking category, the works displayed are mostly about how to create different, new, and innovative architectural transformations,” he explained.
Josephine, one of the visitors to KTA 2024, admitted that she was very enthusiastic about this architectural exhibition. According to her, this activity can explore new ideas and add inspiration to herself, who is also an ITS Architecture student. “The innovations are great and there are some that I didn’t think of, for example, it turns out that there is architecture that can float in the air,” she said.
In this activity there was also a live sketch workshop which was attended by all ITS Architecture students class of 2024. The sketches will also be exhibited in the KTA 2024 Exhibition as a form of appreciation. In addition, there are symposiums and guest lectures that will invite architectural experts in Indonesia.
