Kampus ITS, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) made another brilliant achievement by bringing home four awards at the 2024 Indonesian Building Contest (KBGI). Awarded at Warmadewa University, Denpasar, last Tuesday (8/10), these four neat achievements are strong evidence of ITS excellence in the building model applied science discipline competition.
The coordinator of the KBGI ITS team, Aan Fauzi ST MT, said that this achievement was the result of cooperation carried out by all elements of KBGI, especially the ITS Student Activity Unit (UKM) Construction Design team. “Alhamdulillah, thanks to strong cooperation, this year we have again succeeded in bringing home the trophy for Ibu yang Luhur (ITS),” said Aan gratefully.
Aan also said that ITS’s success in bringing home these four awards is proof of the strength of this Hero Campus in competitions involving applied disciplines such as building modeling. He believes that ITS’s track record in building idea competitions is beyond doubt. “Almost every year ITS always holds the championship in the field of building competition,” he said proudly.
The lecturer of the Construction Management and Implementation Laboratory, ITS Civil Infrastructure Engineering Department, explained that ITS’s brilliant score at this annual event was achieved from two different classifications. Three of them were achieved by the ASURA team which is a finalist in the classification of precast concrete building models. ASURA brings a building model with the Eco-Quake concept that is safe, sustainable and efficient to support the acceleration of Indonesia’s development.
Through this model, ASURA secured the third position in its class. According to Aan, ASURA’s success in securing this position was based on the excellence of ITS from various aspects. One of them is evidenced by the success of the ASURA team as the champion in the category of creativity in building design and the category of fast building, sturdy, durable, and earthquake resistant buildings.
Meanwhile, another ITS score at this event was achieved from the classification of steel building models by the Mahitala Team. Carrying a sturdy and compact miniature model, the team consisting of two students from the ITS Civil Infrastructure Engineering Department managed to perform brilliantly after securing a silver podium in its class. In the future, this miniature model entitled Daraka Tower can be implemented in building construction in Indonesia.
With this achievement, Aan hopes that ITS can continue to advance in developing applied disciplines, especially in the field of building models. In the future, the ITS Civil Infrastructure Engineering Department lecturer believes the building model developed by ITS academics at this event can contribute to national development. (ITS PR)
