ITS Campus, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has once again successfully maintained its Informative Qualification predicate with a score of 97.27 in the 2024 Public Information Transparency Award (KIP). The award for the fifth consecutive time, which was presented at the Movenpick Hotel, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (17/12) evening, is proof of ITS’s consistency as a university in maintaining transparency and inclusiveness of public information services.

In an interview after receiving the award, ITS Rector Prof. Ir Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD expressed his pride in this achievement. The award is not only an acknowledgment of the hard work of all ITS academics, but also a motivation to continue improving information services. “As a university, ITS has a great responsibility in providing access to quality information to the wider community,” he said.

When asked about the key to ITS’s success, the professor of the ITS Department of Mechanical Engineering said that close collaboration between units at ITS was the main factor. ITS always collaborates with its academics to ensure openness of information that can answer the needs of the community. “For example, the accessibility and artificial intelligence (AI) features of Cak Seno on the ITS page,” he explained.

The 13th ITS Rector also highlighted the importance of innovation as the main key to maintaining the momentum of ITS’s success in openness of public information. He stated that innovation must be the foundation for every step ITS takes in providing information services that are not only transparent but also inclusive. “ITS continues to look for new ways to ensure that everyone, without exception, can access the information we provide,” he emphasized.

In closing, Bambang invited all ITS academics to continue to maintain the spirit of transparency in order to realize superior public information services. He emphasized that this success was not the result of individual work alone, but rather the fruit of collaboration and joint commitment from every element in ITS. “In the future, we will continue to adapt to technological developments and the needs of the community to ensure that ITS remains a role model in public information transparency,” he concluded.

In the 2024 KIP Award ceremony, Chairman of the Indonesian Central Information Commission Donny Yoesgiantoro also gave his appreciation to the award recipients in realizing information transparency. It was emphasized that transparency is not just a regulatory demand, but also a fundamental element in creating good and accountable governance. “I believe that transparency strengthens democracy that supports the welfare of the people,” he said.

Furthermore, Donny also highlighted that public information transparency is about creating a healthy dialogue space with the community. He emphasized that open and easily accessible information will encourage active participation in public policy making. “Information transparency is the foundation for an intelligent and critical society, as well as a catalyst in realizing a clean and democratic government,” he added.

This year, the number of Public Agencies that successfully achieved the Informative Qualification predicate has increased significantly, namely from 139 in 2023 to 162 in 2024. Donny said that this increase is a positive indication of the increasing awareness of public agencies regarding the importance of transparency in serving the public. “Hopefully this achievement will inspire other public agencies to continue to improve information services,” he said.

Through this award, KIP hopes that public agencies, including universities, will not only maintain their Informative Qualification status but also continue to innovate to provide better services to the public. Donny encouraged public agencies to utilize digital technology to expand the reach of information and ensure accessibility for all groups, including vulnerable groups. (ITS PUBLIC RELATIONS)
