Mojokerto, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to show its commitment to supporting the clerkship education program, which is planned to take place starting in 2027. Related to this, ITS officially signed a tripartite Cooperation Agreement (in Indonesian: Perjanjian Kerja Sama, will be furtherly referred to as PKS) with two Regional Public Hospitals (in Indonesian: Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah, will be furtherly referred to as RSUD), namely RSUD Dr Wahidin Sudiro Husodo in Mojokerto City and RSUD RA Basoeni in Mojokerto Regency, as a Teaching Hospital.

ITS Rector Prof Ir Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD emphasized in his speech that this collaboration is a strategic step to produce medical personnel who will provide services to the community. “This cooperation is an important milestone to ensure our students (ITS) have access to the best educational facilities, from adequate practice rooms to assistance from professional medical personnel,” he explained.

Bambang also said that ITS will ensure the readiness of various technical aspects to support the success of this program. “We will develop an integrated academic information system to ensure the transfer of knowledge runs effectively, along with building a conducive academic culture in the hospital environment,” he added.

In line with the ITS Rector, Director of RSUD Dr Wahidin Sudiro Husodo, Sulaiman Rosyid MKes assessed that collaboration between higher education institutions and health facilities is a key element in producing competent and professional medical personnel. “As a major medical school hospital, we have a great responsibility to provide an optimal learning environment to improve the quality of public health services,” said Sulaiman.

Furthermore, Sulaiman said that the success of the medical education program depends on close collaboration between the hospital and educational institutions. “This collaboration benefits students and provides opportunities for hospitals to continue to grow through joint research, innovation, and training programs,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Director of RSUD RA Basoeni, Dr Rasyid Salim SpKJ(K), emphasized that this recognition results from the hospital’s efforts in preparing various aspects, from infrastructure to human resources (HR). “This designation proves our readiness in providing adequate health facilities, as well as our commitment to continue to innovate to support medical education,” he said.

Furthermore, Rasyid also highlighted the strategic plan for the development of satellite hospitals, such as the construction of the Psychiatric Center, which will be one of the advantages of RA Basoeni Hospital. “We are optimistic that the strategic plan and collaboration with ITS will bring great benefits to the people of Mojokerto through higher-quality health services,” he said.

ITS, together with hospital partners, will utilize the remaining time to ensure the readiness of infrastructure and systems. Facilities such as medical skills rooms, guard rooms, clerk lockers, and integrated academic information systems are the main focus. In addition, training clinical educators, curriculum alignment, and development of an academic culture within the hospital are also priorities.

ITS’s move to inaugurate two hospitals as teaching hospitals supports SDG 3, Good Health and Well-Being, through improving public health services, and SDG 4, Quality Education, by strengthening access to quality medical education. The integrated academic information system reflects public information disclosure, ensuring this collaboration is widely beneficial and transparent.
