ITS Campus, ITS News — The commitment of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) as the best reference campus in Indonesia continues to bear fruit. This time, ITS managed to be ranked the first best university in Indonesia in the fields of Marine Engineering, Product and Industrial Design, Operation Research, and Supply Chain Management by EduRank.

ITS Rector Prof Ir Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD assessed that the four achievements were the fruit of ITS planning and sustainability efforts in academic development, research, and technological innovation. “The existence of collaboration by building an innovation ecosystem that adapts to industry needs is the key to this success,” he said proudly.

In the field of Marine Engineering, Bambang says that the technological innovations created are a form of ITS contribution to supporting Indonesia as a maritime center. This is evidenced by the development of environmentally friendly ship technology, autonomous ship design, and renewable marine energy research. In addition, there is also research on marine monitoring systems based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and big data to improve shipping efficiency and safety.

Not only that, the professor from the Department of Mechanical Engineering (in Indonesian terms, Departemen Teknik Mesin, abbreviated and will be referred to as DTM) ITS also explained ITS’s achievements in the fields of Operations Research and Supply Chain Management. This achievement is supported through innovation in developing mathematical models and algorithms for business process optimization, logistics, and decision-making. “There are also innovations related to information system optimization for the development of supply chains that are efficient, transparent, and responsive to market changes,” said Bambang.

The 13th ITS Chancellor continued, that the neat collaboration between the ITS Faculty of Creative Design and Digital Business (in Indonesian terms, Fakultas Desain Kreatif dan Bisnis Digital, abbreviated and will be referred to as FDKBD) academic community is also inseparable from achievements in the field of Product and Industrial Design. The work was created in the form of an innovative, ergonomic, and sustainable design by utilizing technology and made from recycled or new material development.

Along with the contributions from FDKBD, various other faculties also played a role in creating innovations that led ITS to achieve those four accomplishments. Bambang said that in the field of Marine Engineering, the Faculty of Marine Technology (in Indonesian terms, Fakultas Teknologi Kelautan, abbreviated and will be referred to as FTK) played a significant role. In addition, the Faculty of Industrial Technology and Systems Engineering (in Indonesian terms, Fakultas Teknologi Industri dan Rekayasa Sistem, abbreviated and will be referred to as FTIRS), the Faculty of Science and Data Analytics (in Indonesian terms, Fakultas Sains dan Analitika Data, abbreviated and will be referred as to FSAD), and the School of Interdisciplinary and Management Technology (SIMT) play an important role in the fields of Operations Research and Supply Chain Management.

Through achievements that are in line with the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 9, namely industry, innovation, and infrastructure, ITS will strive to maintain its achievements. Going forward, Bambang will focus on developing human resources through education, training, and competency development. In line with this, there will also be strengthened cooperation with industry, government, and domestic and foreign universities to improve the quality of research and publications.

Finally, through systematic and sustainable planning, Bambang believes that it can encourage ITS to contribute to creating a more advanced, efficient, and sustainable future. “ITS will also continue to be committed to maintaining this achievement, producing competitive graduates, and creating technological solutions that have an impact on society and industry,” said Bambang optimistically.
