ITS Campus, ITS News — Carrying the theme of SDGs Innovation, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is once again holding the Community & Technological (CommTech) Camp Insight 2025 program. This international program aims to introduce the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) concepts and innovations in the ITS Campus environment to participants from various countries.
CommTech Camp Insight 2025 Coordinator, Jemima Renata Imanuella Bolung, explained that this program is ITS’s effort to show the real implementation of SDGs in various campus sectors. “We want to show how ITS Campus does not only talk about concepts, but actually implements SDGs in terms of facilities, curriculum, and innovation,” said Jemima.
The activity, which lasted for 12 days, from 3rd to 14th February 2025, involves 24 participants from seven countries. Among others, from Russia, China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Participants consisted of lecturers, staff, and undergraduate and master’s students.

The program includes various interesting activities, such as lectures with theme of ‘ITS Strategic Movements in SDGs Awareness’, visits to laboratories and departments at ITS, and interactive discussions related to ITS student movements in supporting SDGs. Participants are also invited to learn about Indonesian culture through language classes and visits to educational institutions and traditional art galleries in Surabaya.
Jemima added that the project-based learning approach was implemented so that participants could directly see and feel the innovations developed by ITS. Among others, in the form of innovations in the use of renewable energy, waste management, and the implementation of campus administration digitalization policies.

Ryan Rangga Prasetyo, another coordinator, stated that this program not only focuses on technology, but also opens up opportunities for global cooperation and strengthens the international communication skills of ITS academics. “Hopefully, participants will not only understand SDGs as a concept, but will be able to apply it in their respective environments,” said Ryan hopefully.
As one of ITS’s flagships, CommTech Camp Insight continues to be an important event to introduce ITS to the global arena. “Hopefully this program can be a bridge of collaboration that brings real benefits to participants and ITS in the future,” concluded Jemima optimistically.
