ITS Chancellor Prof Ir Bambang Pramujati ST MScEng PhD giving a speech at the launch of the generative AI application called SENOPATI at the ITS Rectorate Building
ITS Campus, ITS News — Bringing new changes in the world of artificial intelligence technology, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) launched Sepuluh Nopember Personal Assistant with Intelligence (SENOPATI). The application, which is predicted to provide convenience in the fields of education, health, and business, was officially launched by ITS Chancellor Prof. Ir. Bambang Pramujati ST MScEng PhD, Thursday (20/3), at the ITS Rectorate Building.
In his speech, Bambang welcomed the launch of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) based search engine developed by ITS academics, which is also claimed to be a pioneer of generative AI applications in Indonesia. He assessed that ITS has succeeded in helping to spread the benefits of technological developments to the Indonesian people. “SENOPATI can help the use of AI in society become more orderly, organized, and massive,” he said.
The Professor of the ITS Department of Mechanical Engineering explained that currently SENOPATI is being promoted as an assistant machine in the education sector. This effort is realized through socialization carried out to teachers regarding the use of SENOPATI as a teaching assistant. “SENOPATI will accompany the student learning process by providing information and learning materials,” he explained.
ITS Chancellor Prof Ir Bambang Pramujati ST MScEng PhD accompanied by the SENOPATI inventor team conducted direct monitoring of the SENOPATI application trial process by school teachers in the city of Surabaya.
In its operation as a teaching assistant, SENOPATI obtains and collects data and information through teaching materials uploaded by teachers. Later, the SENOPATI system, which is also equipped with basic data sources, will process the information as a database. Thus, the information search process can be carried out more effectively and optimally.
Meanwhile, SENOPATI inventor Dr Dwi Sunaryono SKom MKom said that SENOPATI, which was designed with his team, will be further developed to be applied in the health sector. One of them is as a patient assistant and provider of health information in health units. “SENOPATI will be presented in the form of a computer or robot that can easily interact with patients,” he explained.
Head of the Surabaya City Education Office, Ir Yusuf Masruh MM, also welcomed the launch of the SENOPATI innovation at the ITS Rectorate Building to support the world of education.
The lecturer of the ITS Informatics Engineering Department explained that currently SENOPATI has been implemented as a teaching assistant for lecturers in the Medical Study Program (Prodi) and Medical Technology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine and Health (FKK) ITS . With satisfactory results, the plan to develop SENOPATI into a wider area is increasingly being tightened. “It is targeted that this year the SENOPATI device can be available as an assistant in health facilities,” he said optimistically.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Surabaya City Education Office, Ir Yusuf Masruh MM, warmly welcomed the innovation that is ITS’s leading product. Yusuf hopes that SENOPATI can be a companion in the use and utilization of AI, including for the world of education, among the community. “It is hoped that later a young generation can be created who can use technology well and understand its limitations,” said Yusuf.
The launch of SENOPATI also supports the process of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) . The points supported include point 4 on Quality Education, and point 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. (ITS PUBLIC RELATIONS)
