ITS Campus, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) consistently makes proud achievements in various fields, including entrepreneurship. Through the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo XV held at Halu Oleo University, Kendari, Friday (25/10), ITS won three titles at the KMI Award 2024.
Head of Entrepreneurship and Guidance Counseling Section of the Directorate of Student Affairs (Ditmawa) ITS Eka Dian Savitri SHum MA revealed that in this annual national-scale student entrepreneurship event, ITS delegated five teams to participate in the exhibition. The five ITS teams came from the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW).
Of the five teams that qualified for the KMI Award, ITS won 1st place in the Digital Business Growing Stage category through the Raihasa platform. Raihasa is a website that provides peer-to-peer scholarship services. “This platform is a solution to realize more inclusive access to education for the Indonesian people,” explained Eka.
Not only that, through the Aquasense Team, ITS won 3rd place in the Manufacturing and Applied Technology Growing Stage category. The team that developed the innovation of monitoring and improving water quality based on the Internet of Things (IoT) targets fish farmers. “The goal is to increase the productivity of fish farmers,” said the member of the ITS Social Humanities Laboratory.
ITS also achieved a new achievement as the Second Runner-up in the Stand Up Comedy category. The comedy art performed by the student of the ITS Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering, Muhammad Haikal Fikri Azhari, succeeded in reaping laughter from visitors through the topic of Independent Entrepreneurship of the People.
The bespectacled woman explained that ITS’s achievement at the 2024 KMI Expo was the result of quite thorough preparation since last September. This cannot be separated from ITS’s role in providing routine training facilities for each team that is part of P2MW. “Each team can also consult with expert practitioners in business,” she added.
Through the achievement of several champions, the Chairperson of the ITS Independent Entrepreneurship 2023 hopes that through the business development facilities provided by the campus, ITS can produce more innovations in the business sector. He believes that the potential of ITS students in various competitions can be developed into products with economic value to be marketed globally.
ITS’s achievements in the event attended by 284 universities in Indonesia are proof of ITS’s commitment to providing facilities for developing business interests for students. In the end, Eka also advised ITS students to have high enthusiasm to utilize the facilities provided by ITS. “Through this program, students have ample opportunities to become entrepreneurs,” he concluded encouragingly.
