The Department of Physics Engineering opened the Master Programs since 2008, based on Decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) No. 2202/D/T/2008. Rapid development in science and technology has changed the paradigm of study patterns in the scientific field into integrated models and multidisciplinary.
Master Program of Physics Engineering is a combination of scientific disciplines in physics, engineering, and mathematics to develop an understanding of the interrelation of the three courses. This study program designs to prepare students with strong provisions from the three disciplines with the choice of advanced courses in the field of Physical Engineering. Students are also equipped with skills in problem solving and research.
This Master Program is supported by 39 lectures with 11 Doctors and 25 Masters. The supporting facilities are as follows: lecture rooms, nine laboratories, and workshops. The reading room is equipped with more than 5000 library materials, international scientific journals, national scientific journals, subscription access to ScienceDirect, Elsevier and IEEE, free internet connections, and other facilities.
The Department of Physics Engineering Masters Program aims to produce engineering masters who have mastery of knowledge, understanding, and skills in the field of Physics Engineering. After completing the education program, students are expected to have strong and deep ability of science and technology, be able to analyze and solve various engineering sciences issues integrally, and be able to present original innovations in science and technology.
Physics Engineering Master Program has two areas of interest that students can choose according to their talents and abilities, including:
Master Program for Physics Engineering takes place in four semesters (2 years), with a maximum limit of the study period is 4 years. Minimum credit load of 36 credits, including a thesis following the curriculum. The first semester starts in early September, while the second semester starts in early February and ends in June.
The academic activities include lectures, assignments and independent learning, laboratory activities, literature study, and an active role in discussions and seminars.
The lecture and research process in the Master Program is supported by the Laboratory, and Workshop as follows:
