On March 4, 2025, the ITS Library established a collaboration with the Department of Information Technology to hold a scientific publication lecture activity for the academic community. This activity involved the ITS Librarian, Eva Mursidah, S.I.Pust and the lecturer of the Information Technology course, Dr. Ir. Hening TC, S.Kom, M.Kom.
In this session, Eva Mursidah provided a briefing on library instruction, including the introduction to the online catalog, the utilization of e-resources subscribed by the ITS Library, and effective techniques for searching scientific articles. “The goal is to equip students with the ability to search, evaluate, and utilize scientific information effectively,” explained Eva.
Dr. Ir. Hening added, “The ITS Library has subscribed to various high-quality journal databases and e-books, such as IEEE Xplore, ACM Digital Library, and Science Direct. Students must take advantage of these quality information sources to support their research and scientific writing.”
The current era of artificial intelligence also opens up many opportunities for academics to utilize various AI tools in literature search. “We encourage students to explore further the use of AI, such as ChatGPT, Elicit, and Perplexity, in assisting the research and writing process of scientific works,” explained the information technology lecturer.
With this collaboration, the ITS Library hopes to improve the information literacy of students and lecturers, so that they can optimize access to available scientific information sources, both through e-resources and the increasingly developing AI tools. This is expected to encourage an increase in the quality and productivity of scientific publications by the ITS academic community.
