LibriGo: Library Clearance Aplication

The Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Library has developed another innovation related to library clearance services, designed to facilitate students’ access to this service. This application is the research output titled “LIBRIGO: Design and Implementation of Integrated Electronic Library Clearance (EBP) Application to Improve ITS Repository and Publication Accessibility,” led by Eva Mursidah, S.I.Pust (Ikoma Corner Service Librarian) with research team members consisting of Mujiana, S.Sos (Administration Staff), Tondo Indtra Nyata (IT Staff), and Iwan Juniarto, S.E (Multimedia Service Librarian), under the guidance of Mrs. Adhatus Solicha, S.Kom, M.Sc, a lecturer from the ITS Department of Informatics Engineering.

Initially, the research result was only a prototype. However, on the initiative of one team member, the prototype was further developed into a web-based application with the help of two student programmers from the ITS Information Technology Department, namely Bagus Ridho Rosfandi and Fairuz Azhar Auzan.

LibriGo addresses challenges in library clearance services that previously still used manual and semi-digital methods (using Google Form and Google Sheet). With LibriGo, students can now monitor their library clearance letter progress in real-time, a feature that greatly simplifies and improves service transparency.

The LibriGo application socialization was held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, in the Internet Room on the 3rd Floor of the ITS Library. The event was attended by the Head of ITS Library, Head of Sub-division, senior supervisor of user services, senior supervisor of digital library development, and 15 librarians.

Positive responses came from the socialization participants. Zamrud Mufida, S.Sos, User Services Supervisor, stated, “The LibriGo application simplifies library clearance services, and I suggested that this application be integrated with the myITS SSO system.”

In agreement with Zamrud, Astutik Nur Qomariyah, S.Sos., M.Hum, Information Literacy Librarian, added, “The LibriGo application provides easy access for users (students) to check updates on their library clearance process status and independently print their library clearance letters.”

LibriGo marks a step forward for the ITS Library in providing more efficient, transparent, and accessible services for students. Hopefully, this application can continue to be developed and provide optimal benefits for the entire ITS academic community. (onemore)
