Kampus ITS, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) The HETI project demonstrates a commitment for capacity development of innovators in communicating innovative ideas and receiving direct feedback from industry practitioners through Go-To-Market Business Pitching Workshop, Saturday (7/9).
As part of the Go-to-Market training and a downstreaming of business and product innovation under grant of HETI ITS, the Go-to-Market Business Pitching was held on Saturday, September 7th 2024 at ITS Rectorate Building. The event was organized by HETI in collaboration with ecc.co.id as the training partner. It invited various industry representative and experts as panellists to provide feedbacks and expand business networking. Moreover, it invited Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC., Ph.D., a Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.

The pitching’s participant are the trainees and researchers who received grant funding from HETI ADB ITS. Each of participant had 5 minutes to present their product, followed by feedback from panellists, which address both the products and presentation techniques. This feedback was critical, as it provided participant with new insights into what information is valued by industry and how to effectively deliver their products to investor, business partner, and the market.

Furthermore, this event aimed to bridge the gap between researcher and the industry, helping to identify challenges in the downstream process of getting products to market. This gap often becomes an obstacle for researchers in successfully commercializing their innovation.
In response to this, a dedicated team with specialized roles is needed to act as a bridge between researchers and the industry, particularly in the area of marketing. This team would be responsible for effectively transferring product innovations from researchers to industries and the broader market.
The Go-to-Market Business Pitching event successfully facilitated the connection between researchers and industry, highlighting the need for enhanced collaboration in marketing product innovations. By addressing the identified gaps and providing vital feedback, the event empowered participants with the knowledge and strategies necessary to effectively bring their innovations to the market.
