ITS Campus, ITS News – Three Students of the Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya managed to become 30 Best Indonesian Talents. All three managed to set aside 12,000 participants from across the country in the Indonesia Next Telkomsel event entitled Corporate Social Responsibility on Friday (1/19).
Indonesia’s Next activity is a program initiated by Telkomsel with the aim of increasing the capabilities and capacity of Indonesian youth in facing global competition in the future. This event was held in six major Indonesian cities, such as Medan, Jakarta, Jogjakarta, Bandung, Makassar and Surabaya. Participants from Surabaya reached 2000 people. Motivated from the difficulty of competing when looking for work to make Danuta Aldina from Regional and City Planning, Ni Luh Putu Disa Pracita from Interior Design, and Bima Panji from Engineering Physics want to be the best and understand the materials given when Indonesia Next takes place. “We must begin to care if Indonesia needs people who are ready to face change, especially in the world of work,” explained Danuta. The Motivation Seminar and international certification activities are the two core activities in the city level preliminary round. This certification is divided into two expertise, namely Microsoft Office Specialist and Graphic Design and Illustration. “I took the Microsoft Office Specialist. The output is an international expertise certificate that can be a Diploma Accreditation Certificate (SKPI) when graduating, “added the PWK student. From this certification activity, 2000 participants were selected to become the top five in each city. And ITS contributed three of the five best participants. When National Bootcamp, activities are filled with further training such as advanced communication skills, critical thinking, English, company visits and qualification panels that test students’ innovative abilities. Thanks to the diligence made, the three ITS students were sent to Singapore in March to conduct training at major companies there. (li)
