Welcome to the Urban and Regional Planning Department
The Urban and Regional Planning Department is one of the departments at the Faculty of Design and Planning Architecture ITS which was first opened on August 30, 2001 based on letter number 2825 / D / T / 2001 issued by the Directorate General of Higher Education. The Urban and Regional Planning Department was established with the aim of becoming an institution of integrity, high competence and innovation in the field of sustainable regional and city planning in order to support regional autonomy and the internationalization of ITS.
The Department of Urban and Regional Planning was established to address various development problems and challenges and foster the excellence of science and technology in the field of PWK oriented to the coastal area and sustainable development. To support all of that, our department has three laboratories including the Computing and Spatial Planning Analysis Laboratory, Regional, Coastal and Environmental Development Laboratory and Urban Development and Design Laboratory.
Based on BAN-PT Decree No.1122 / SK / BAN-PT / Accredited / S / X / 2015 the Regional and City Planning Department is accredited with an “A” rating. Until now, this ranking has been maintained with many achievements and cooperation from various parties. At present the Regional and City Planning Department has collaborated with various international universities including Saxion University, Monash University, RMIT University, Radboud University, The University of Mexico, North Malaysia University, National Cheng Kung University, National Central University, Dankook University, Toyo University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Shibaura Institute of Technology, International Islamic University Malaysia, HZ University of Applied Sciences, University of Santo Tomas. This collaboration is carried out not only to increase the capacity of teachers and educators but also to students by implementing student exchange programs with partner universities.
Not only with international universities, the Urban and Regional Planning Department also conducts research and community service in collaboration with several municipal and district governments to address current development problems.
Students from the Urban and Regional Planning Department also have many achievements, both at the local, regional, national and international levels. Here are some of the achievements of the ITS PWK Students:
The prospects and employment opportunities in the Regional and City Planning sector are still wide open, especially as research institutions (URDI, IAP, BAKOSURTANAL, Balitbang Ministry etc.), technical institutions (BAPPENAS, BAPPEPROV, BAPPEDA, BAPPEKO, BPN, PU, Transportation, Forestry, Agriculture, Marine and Fisheries, Environment etc.) and non-governmental organizations and private sector (consultants).
