Jurnal Penataan Ruang (JPR) is a journal managed by the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, published by the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya, Indonesia. The journal aims to serve as a platform for disseminating research findings in the field of urban and regional planning, both in Indonesia and internationally. It is expected to become a valuable reference for academics, practitioners, and policymakers in the development of knowledge and practice in urban and regional planning.

Jurnal Penataan Ruang is published twice a year, in May and November. The journal was first published in 2006 (Vol. 1 No. 1). From its inception until 2019, the registration and review process was conducted offline, while access to publications was available online through the journal’s website. The migration to an online system began in 2017 to enhance efficiency and transparency in publication management. Since 2020 (Vol. 15 No. 1), the entire journal management process—including registration, review, and publication—has been conducted entirely online.

Over time, Jurnal Penataan Ruang has continuously improved the quality of its publications by implementing a rigorous peer-review system and involving experts in urban and regional planning as reviewers. Additionally, the journal is committed to adhering to national and international scientific publication standards, including publication ethics and metadata management. Moving forward, the journal aims to further enhance its competitiveness and gain recognition from reputable indexing institutions, allowing it to reach a broader audience and make a greater contribution to the advancement of knowledge and practice in urban and regional planning.

Jurnal Penataan Ruang is registered electronically with E-ISSN: 2716-179X and in print with P-ISSN: 1907-4872. With this registration, the journal strives to continuously improve its quality and visibility at both national and international levels.
