Applied Bachelor Program

The opening of the Applied Undergraduate Study Program at the Department of Business Statistics at the Ten November Institute of Technology (ITS) is a necessity and in accordance with ITS’s strategic plan as a large tertiary institution in Indonesia in contributing to solving national problems. There are several legal bases and rules that can be the basis for opening a new study program, including the following,

  1. Law No.12 of 2012 concerning Higher Education, Article 16 concerning Vocational Education; Article 33 relating to the administration of study programs.
  2. Government Regulation No.54 of 2015 concerning the Statutes of the Ten November Institute of Technology, Article 46 concerning the Rector’s authority to open and close Faculties and / or Schools, Departments, and Study Programs with consideration of the SA (Academic Senate); Article 12 Paragraph 1 which reads ITS can open, change, and close the Study Program in accordance with statutory provisions; Article 13 paragraph 1 which reads ITS organizes higher education consisting of academic education, vocational education, and professional education; and Article 47 Paragraph 1 Point c.3 concerning the authority of Academic Senate members in the development of knowledge and technology families related to the opening and closing of Faculties, Schools, Departments, and / or Study Programs ITS
  3. Rector Regulation No. 13 of 2017 Concerning Opening, Changing Names, and Closing of Study Programs at the Ten November Institute of Technology, Article 3, point b, one of the study programs at ITS is the Bachelor and Applied Study Program (Diploma IV).
  4. PTNBH ITS Strategic Plan 2015 – 2020 Vocational Faculty Work Program 2017-2020
  5. Based on the 2017-2020 Vocational Faculty Work

Program document, one of the work programs is to encourage an increase in the number of Applied Bachelor programs within the Vocational Faculty environment and it is expected that in mid-2018 there will be an additional 3 Applied Undergraduate Study Programs within the Vocational Faculty environment. Therefore the Applied Bachelor Study program was opened.

Applied Undergraduate Curriculum Advancing on Vocational Education

Subjects that will be imposed on the participants include: Operations Research, Work Measurement Techniques, Operations Management, Quality Control, Technical Economics, Production Planning, Quality Management, Econometrics, Capital Market Economics, Financial Management Database Management, Data Analysis I, Analysis Data II, Simulation and Optimization Methods, Introduction to Computer Applications, Computer Programming, Risk Management, Life Time Data Analysis, PMS 1, PMS2, Statistical Theory, Non-Parametric Statistics, Applied Multivariate Methods, Experimental Design Regression Methods, Sampling Techniques, Exploration and Visualization Data, Official Statistics, Forecasting Methods, Data Analysis Categories, Social Research Methods, Marketing Management, Market Research Methods, which will be divided into several course families later.

Differences in Statistics Undergraduate Study Programs with Applied Business Statistics Undergraduate Study Programs

In the context of the differences between the Applied Business Statistics Undergraduate Study Program and the Statistics Undergraduate Study Program that have been developed previously in ITS, as is known the ITS Statistics Undergraduate Study Program Vision is:

Becoming an educational institution of undergraduate level and developing statistics and international standard data design that contributes in science and technology, particularly in the fields of Computing, Business & Industry, Economics & Finance, Social & Population, and Environment & Health.” (2018 Curriculum Handbook Department of Statistics, FMKSD)

With the establishment of the Business Statistics Applied Undergraduate Study Program will be a partner and complete the existence of the Statistics Undergraduate Study Program in the application and downstream of statistical research and development.
