Thank God we pray to Allah SWT who with His blessings is maintained by the Marine Engineering Department. Year 2020 has arrived, 37 years has passed the Marine Engineering Department FTK ITS. Whereas in 37 years, the Department of Marine Engineering has contributed and a real role to ITS and the Indonesian nation. Through a quality education program in the field of shipping and maritime systems, the Department of Marine Engineering has graduated many alumni who have good qualities and have worked at national and international levels.

Decades of Strata-1 program has brought gold records in academic achievement, along with the issuance of permits from Kemenristek Dikti and ITS, new programs in the Department of Marine Engineering such as S1-Double Degree, and post-graduate programs both S2-Regular, S2-Double Degree, and Regular S3 have officially run in full control of the Department of Marine Engineering. This requires full responsibility of all elements in the Department of Marine Engineering to be more active in working, collaborating and increasing togetherness. Management of the Department of Marine Engineering and teaching lecturers supported by education personnel must be more solid and organized in carrying out the Tri-Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Compactness will be a triger for the improvement of joint work, creativity, achievement and work ethic of the entire academic community in the Department of Marine Engineering. That way, the proximity of the alumni with the alma mater is expected to be well maintained.

As the head of the Department of Marine Engineering, I always hope the Marine Department can always succeed and create graduates who are competent in their fields, and can contribute positively to the wider community and become centers of study in shipping and maritime fields.
