Classroom WA107 bears witness to a myriad of stories and memories. Situated between the Postgraduate Classroom WA106 and the corridor of the Department of Marine Engineering at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), this space has undergone a notable evolution.
In its earlier iteration, this room served as the Drawing Task Laboratory, encompassing assignments ranging from Plan Line Drawings, Piping Installations, to the Design of Engine Rooms 2, subsequently renamed Design 4.
In the past, drawing tasks were executed manually using A0 tracing paper and pencils. Considering the weightiness of these drawing tasks before the year 2000, Room 107 transformed into a specialized laboratory, facilitating students in their drawing pursuits with the aid of large tables. This classroom also functioned as a hub for student discussions following consultations or drawing examinations, where students shared and discussed their individual drawings while narrating the joys and challenges encountered during consultations with their supervising professors.
However, with the passage of time, the lab’s function evolved due to the escalating number of Siskal students entering from the year 2000 onwards. Consequently, there arose a need for additional classrooms to support the ongoing academic activities.
From 2007 to the present, Classroom WA107 has undergone changes in room design and layout. Additions, including air conditioning, projector screens, and student desks and chairs, have been implemented to ensure a comfortable and conducive learning environment.
