The Department of Marine Engineering (DMarE) has several activities for students that aim to support learning activities in the classroom and to expand knowledge in the marine engineering. This student activity is routinely held every year, involving many parties, namely lecturers, alumni and industry and overseas partners. Following are some of the routine activities of students at DTSP.

Guest lecture

The guest lecture is an activity of giving insight, knowledge and information to all DMarE students from all generations, where this guest lecture program invites speakers and speakers from alumni or not alumni who have worked in industry or companies as well as presenters from DMarE partners from Domestic and Foreign Affairs . Located in a large hall that can be followed by DMarE students from all generations. The purpose of this guest lecture is for students to have updated and up-to-date information related to the world of work and education.

Kuliah Lapangan

Kuliah Lapangan are visits to industry in order to support lecture activities in the classroom. Field lectures are usually carried out by certain classes in certain subjects as well, where students in one class visit a company within 1 day. The aim is for students to get information that supports the course.

Study excursion for Regular student

study excursion for Regular student is a visit to several industries in the Indonesia which is conducted for 1 week or more, which aims to provide opportunities for students to know the real world of work, and can provide insight to students. So that students can verify between theory and reality. Besides that students know the problems that exist in the world of work, where the problem can be used as the final project theme later.

Study excursion for Double degree student is an activity to visit several industries in Germany which is conducted for 1 week or more, which aims to provide opportunities for students to know the real world of work, and can provide insight to students. So that students can verify between theory and reality. Besides that students know the problems that exist in the world of work, where the problem can be used as the final project theme later.

Marine Icon

Marine icon is an annual routine activity carried out by the DMarE Student Organization (Himasiskal) in which there are many competitions for which participants are high school students, college students and public.

Solar Boat Competition

The solar boat competition is a solar-powered boat competition that is routinely attended by DMarE students where the competition is held abroad, such as the Netherlands and Monaco. This race takes place in a few days, where there are several championship categories, such as ships with the longest mileage, ships with the fastest speed, and others. So from this DMarE students are required to innovate the ships they make for the race, such as innovations from the aspect of ship design or the innovation of the machinery system.
