4th Sustainability and Resilience Coastal Management
The Joint International Conference on the 4th Sustainability and Resilience Coastal Management, abbreviated as SRCM is an international conference held by the Center for Marine and Earth Science and Technology Research (Puslit STKK) in collaboration with the Center for Sustainable Infrastructure and Environmental Research (PILB) and the Center for Disaster Mitigation Research and Climate Change (Puslit MKPI) which is part Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS).
This joint conference takes the general theme of the 4th Sustainable and Resilience Coastal Management with sub-sub themes related to maritime and earth technology, environmental management, ecosystem management, sustainable infrastructure, and climate change.
In 2023, SRCM consists of 20% of expected international contributions from 7 countries, namely Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, United Kingdom, Australia and Indonesia.
BACKGROUND
The increasingly polluted quality of the environment and the increasing frequency of natural disasters in Indonesia are certainly topics that need further discussion. Environmental pollution can be in the form of water pollution, excessive dumping of rubbish or waste in water bodies, so that water bodies do not have the opportunity to carry out self-purification. Apart from that, the issue of climate change needs to be raised because it causes coastal areas to become areas that are most vulnerable to various consequences of climate change, especially damage to ecosystems around coastal areas. Social life is also a problem in this location, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic, which will increase the amount of poverty for residents in coastal areas, most of whom make their living as fishermen.
In an effort to protect the environment and maritime affairs, especially for archipelagic areas like Indonesia, to become areas that have a clean environment, a community environment that is able to adapt to changing conditions that occur, both environmentally, socially, and economically. The concept of sustainable infrastructure development that supports life in coastal areas as well as integrated policies and management to manage coastal areas so that both physical and human development can take place in a sustainable manner. The Joint International Conference on the 4th Sustainability and Resilience Coastal Management is one of ITS’ efforts to take part in solving the problems above.
PREVIOUS SRCM
The conference has been a success since the first SRCM in 2020 and has therefore becomes an annual event. All accepted 1st – 3rd SCRM articles have been published in the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Sciences Volume 799 (2020), Volume 1095 (2021) and are still in the process of publication by IOP for SRCM 2022.
Acceptance notification will be sent by the committee on November 21, 2023, after being declared to have passed review by the scientific review.
Abstracts that pass the review can take part in the seminar on November 29, 2023
After the seminar is held, presenting participants must send the full manuscript by December 22, 2023, to Easychair
Full paper acceptance notification will be sent to manuscripts that pass review by the scientific committee on December 29, 2023
Final revision submission for manuscripts that pass and have been given feedback for revision from the scientific committee they must be submitted again on January 15, 2024
After the revisions are submitted and reviewed again, the results will be published in the form of Conference Proceedings
