The happiness of the ITS Nogogeni team on the closing night and awarding of KMHE 2024
ITS Campus, ITS News — Returning to the name of the Hero Campus in the national arena, the Nogogeni team of Institut Teknologi Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) brought home two brilliant achievements in the 2024 Energy Efficient Car Contest (KMHE), Wednesday (9/10). In this competition, the Nogogeni ITS team won second place in the Urban Concept category for Ethanol-fueled Internal Combustion Engines (MPD) and Electric Motors.
Head of Sponsorship and External Relation Division of Nogogeni ITS team Muhammad Syahrial Rizky explained that KMHE is a prestigious competition organized by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) to produce environmentally friendly automotive technology. The event, held at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit, has a main focus on fuel efficiency.
The competition is divided into two categories, namely Prototype and Urban Concept, each of which is further divided into four subcategories based on its energy source. “This year, the Nogogeni team is competing in the Urban Conceptcategory, specifically for MPD Ethanol and Electric Motor,” added the student of the Department of Industrial Mechanical Engineering.

In the MPD Ethanol subcategory, the Nogogeni VII car appeared charming with the latest innovations in the form of engine optimization and drive systems designed to increase combustion efficiency and reduce emissions. The results of this research brought the ITS Nogogeni team to the 2nd place podium with a fuel consumption efficiency achievement of 438.12 kilometers per liter (km/l).
Meanwhile, the Nogogeni IX Evo car appeared impressive with an increasingly slim body and superior aerodynamic performance. The main focus on reducing vehicle weight and improving the drive system succeeded in bringing the Nogogeni IX Evo to also win 2nd place in the Electric Motor subcategory with an efficiency level of 272.86 km/kWh.

The Pasuruan-born young man added that the achievement was certainly inseparable from the good cooperation between divisions in the Nogogeni ITS team. KMHE 2024 not only provides experience and opens new insights, but also a means to strengthen team cohesiveness. “This synergy has succeeded in bringing us to second place in each category, outperforming more than 60 other teams,” he said proudly.
Routinely participating in the KMHE event since 2015, the Nogogeni ITS team has successfully won several championship trophies each year. Reflecting on this achievement, the Nogogeni ITS team is committed to continuing to make improvements and developments in every innovation made. “We hope that the relay of the Nogogeni team’s achievements can continue, both at the national and international levels,” concluded Rizky optimistically.
