Thursday, December 19, 2024 Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), through its Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (ELECTICS), once again demonstrates its commitment to sustainability-driven innovation. As part of the IEEE Tech4Good 2024 program, the ELECTICS ITS team successfully developed a waste management solution that integrates advanced technology with the local wisdom of Bali, supporting the region's zero-carbon emission mission. The project titled “Self-sustaining and Environmentally Friendly Composters as a Clean Traditional Ceremonial Waste Treatment Solution to Support Zero Carbon Emissions in Bali” is one of ITS’ flagship community service initiatives. The handover event took place successfully on November 23-24, 2024, marking a significant milestone in utilizing technology for humanitarian purposes.
Tuesday, December 10, 2024 On October 30, 2024, ITS held an opening ceremony for Japanese language classes as part of a collaborative program between the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (ELECTICS) at ITS and the Japanese company Willtec. This event marks a significant milestone in strengthening academic and industrial relations, while also paving the way for ITS students to pursue careers in Japan. Prof. Bambang Pramujati, S.T., M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D., the Rector of ITS, expressed high hopes for the participants of the Japanese language course.
Tuesday, December 3, 2024 Corn plays a crucial role in Indonesia's agriculture and food security sectors, yet its productivity faces multiple challenges. Key issues impeding the development of this sector include low productivity, fertilizer shortages, limited cultivation technology, and unstable prices. Recognizing these challenges, a research team from the Information Systems Department at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), led by Prof. Erma Suryani, ST., MT., Ph.D., developed the Silaja Information System as an innovative technology-based solution to address issues in East Java’s corn supply chain. Silaja’s development was driven by the need to improve the sustainability of the corn supply chain.
Tuesday, December 17, 2024 The Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (ELECTICS) at ITS continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting global technological innovation by organizing a workshop titled ``Deep Learning and Its Applications in Assisting Humans.`` This event responds to the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly deep learning technology, in addressing real-world challenges across various sectors such as healthcare, education, transportation, and business. The workshop aims to build technical competencies, enhance ethical awareness, and foster global collaboration, especially for international students who are the primary target audience.
Monday, November 25, 2024 The Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (ELECTICS) at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has once again pioneered an innovation to support the growth of Indonesia's Sharia economy through the launch of the digital platform Halal Waypoints and Verified Eaterie (HalalWave). Developed by the Department of Information Systems (DSI) at ITS, this platform aims to help the public easily locate nearby halal dining options. The HalalWave platform was initiated by two DSI ITS lecturers, Prof. Nur Aini Rakhmawati MScEng PhD and Amalia Utamima SKom MBA PhD, involving Master’s student in Information Systems, Muhammad Ridho Waradana.
Tuesday, November 12, 2024 In a rapidly advancing digital era, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) students continue to innovate to provide solutions for pressing social issues. One of these innovations from the creative minds at the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (ELECTICS) is Unsmoke, a digital health startup designed to help smokers quit in a more personalized and enjoyable way. Unsmoke is Indonesia’s first companion app that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and gamification to help users quit smoking, setting it apart through its unique approach. By utilizing data such as age, gender, smoking duration, and cigarette consumption, Unsmoke offers a tailored and guided quit-smoking program, providing a more flexible experience for users. This gradual approach is a key advantage, increasing the chances of quitting successfully compared to abrupt methods.
