The Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (F-ELECTICS) is a leading faculty in ITS which was established as a combination of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FTIK) and the Faculty of Electrical Technology (FTE) consisting of six departments that leading ten study programs for S1, more than 2500 students both at the S1, S2 level or S3. F-ELECTICS comes with a vision to become a referral faculty in education and research in electrical, electronics, and computing-related fields with an international reputation and contribution to humanity.

Five New F-ELECTICS Professors Inaugurated in February 2025

Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has once again inaugurated its top academics, including five new professors from the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (F-ELECTICS). The inauguration ceremony took place in two open Senate sessions held on February 6 and 20, 2025, at the 11th-floor Auditorium of the Research Center, ITS Sukolilo Campus. The inauguration of these five new professors reaffirms F-ELECTICS's role in advancing science and technology across various strategic fields. With their expertise, it is hoped that innovations and solutions beneficial to society and industry will emerge, while also opening broader collaboration opportunities at the national and international levels.
TENPINA VR: Disaster Mitigation Innovation by Informatics Lecturers of ELECTICS ITS

TENPINA VR research team, coordinated by Mrs. Siska Arifiani, S.Kom., M.Kom., a lecturer from the Department of Informatics at ITS, presents a virtual reality (VR) innovation as part of a disaster mitigation strategy initiated by BPBD East Java. This technology is designed to be used by visitors to the BPBD East Java Disaster Education Park, including students and the general public, to enhance their understanding of various disaster situations in a more interactive and in-depth manner. Mrs. Siska explained that this VR is the result of collaboration between ITS academic community and is capable of realistically displaying disaster conditions.

Entering the year 2025, the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (F-ELECTICS) at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) welcomed its newly appointed officials for the 2025-2029 term on January 2, 2025. This inauguration marks a significant step for FT-EIC in strengthening leadership and supporting the faculty’s vision and mission to continuously innovate and grow. Several F-ELECTICS lecturers have been entrusted with strategic positions. This appointment provides them with an opportunity to contribute more extensively to decision-making and management within ITS.

Information Systems Student from ELECTICS ITS Leads International-Standard UN Simulation

Daring to step out of his comfort zone and venture into a field rarely explored by engineering students, Aldius Rizky Asantrinova, an Information Systems student at ITS, has proven that the world of diplomacy can also be mastered by technology students. He successfully led an international United Nations (UN) simulation held in Surabaya, gaining invaluable experience in leadership and global negotiations. Aldius has participated twice in the Model United Nations (MUN), a simulation of UN sessions that hones diplomatic, negotiation, and leadership skills. In his first attempt, he received an Honorable Mention, a prestigious recognition in the international event.

Taking a big step to pursue education abroad is not an easy decision. However, Denta, an Informatics IUP ITS student, successfully overcame this challenge through the Double Degree program at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands. With a combination of research-based education at ITS and project-based learning at Fontys, he gained outstanding academic and professional experience. Denta’s interest in the Double Degree program stemmed from his desire to experience studying abroad and face new challenges. Among ITS’s partner universities, he chose Fontys University for its balanced curriculum between theory and practice, as well as its industry-based learning approach.

Fully funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), this program offers invaluable experience in a different academic and cultural environment. One of the ELECTICS students who had the opportunity to participate in this program is Alif Adhtiya Wicaksono, a master's student in Electrical Engineering specializing in Smart Multimedia Networks and a graduate of Computer Engineering.
