Geology of Environmental Management and Hazardous Waste
The study of the geology of the environment in an area will provide an overview of the supporting factors and constraints of environmental geology for regional development and overall environmental management. Environmental geological information can help overcome environmental problems and their management efforts through land use recommendations and provide alternative solutions to these problems. So that it can be used as input and at the same time evaluates the existing Regency/City Spatial Planning (RTRW) or those that will be prepared.
The results of the study of environmental geology will obtain the level of freedom of an area to be developed. Restraint is a ranking of areas that can be developed as a cultivation area in the sense of being free in segregating land use and easy in organizing space. Determining the location of B3 waste disposal really needs an environmental geological analysis.
B3 waste that arises from daily human activities must be managed and processed properly and not pollute the environment. Several methods for hazardous waste disposal include (1) deep wells or injection wells; (2) Storage ponds or Surface Impoundments; (3) Secure Landfill for Hazardous Waste
Secure landfill is a method of B3 waste disposal by stockpiling solidified B3 waste or putting it in a drum. The purpose of constructing a secure landfill is so that the leachate formed from B3 waste does not come out polluting groundwater and the surrounding environment. Secure landfill is equipped with leachate collection pipes and monitoring wells.
