GEOICON 2020

In effort to support Indonesian Government development program based on sustainable development goals, and environmental friendly, which faces several challenges such as social, political, economic, and land-marine disintegration management. In order to implement the Building Information Modelling in the development of natural resources exploration and management, such spatial technologies as an alternative are needed for purposes of mapping, inventory management, and monitoring of natural resources exploration.

GEOICON 2019

The Geomatics International Conference (GeoICON) is an annual scientific meeting organized by Geomatics Engineering Department, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Surabaya, Indonesia since 2016. This year, the fourth GeoICON 2019 took place at Swiss-Belinn Hotel Manyar, Surabaya, Indonesia on August 21st – 22nd 2019. The conference carried out a theme about Geospatial Technology for Mapping the Future: Integrating Land and Marine Development. The 4th GeoICON 2019 aims to bring together researchers, scientists and scholar students to exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and research results about all aspects of geospatial science and technology. The discussion about the practical challenges encountered are performed and the solutions are adopted.

During the two days conference and workshop, more than 100 participants presented their findings in eight main conference topic tracks i.e. (A) Geodesy and Geomatics, (B) Geology and Geophysics, (C) Spatial Data Infrastructure, (D) Geography and Urban Environment, (E) Agriculture and Forestry, (F) Mining and Energy, (G) Cadastral Mapping, (H) Marine Environment, as well as discussing potential joint researches and collaborations among them.

We would like to thank the committees for their strong commitment in organizing this event and the participants who have contributed to this volume. We would also like to thank the editor for their time and valuable remarks as well as and the reviewers for their suggestions on how to improve the paper. The 3rd GEOICON 2018 is an international conference held since 2016. This event is a forum where coordination of academics, coordination, and related special representatives to discuss the latest developments in the field of geospatial information. This year GEOICON takes the theme “Geospatial Technology for Mapping the Future: Development of Human Civilization”. The event was held on July 12, 2018 at the Swiss BelInn Manyar hotel, Surabaya.
