The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (DTSI) at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has firmly established itself as one of the university’s premier departments. With a distinguished history spanning over four decades, DTSI-ITS has consistently produced highly qualified graduates. Since 1999, the department has maintained an “A” accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), underscoring its commitment to excellence and adherence to the highest educational standards.
DTSI-ITS’s dedication to continuous advancement and global competitiveness has been recognized through various international certifications and accreditations. The department has previously earned prestigious accreditations from the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) and the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), which contributed significantly to enhancing its educational quality and international standing. Currently, DTSI-ITS is in the process of obtaining accreditation from the Accreditation Agency for Study Programmes of Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN), reaffirming the department’s commitment to meeting rigorous international standards.
Supported by approximately 50 experienced faculty members, many of whom have earned their postgraduate degrees from prestigious institutions worldwide, DTSI-ITS offers expertise across a wide range of critical disciplines. These include ergonomics, occupational safety and health, manufacturing systems, optimization, operations research, simulation, data science, logistics, supply chain management, and quality management.
Beyond academic excellence, DTSI-ITS actively fosters strategic partnerships with leading universities around the globe. Collaborations have been established with institutions such as The University of Queensland (Australia), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan), and Rennes School of Business (France). These partnerships facilitate a variety of academic programs, research collaborations, and international mobility opportunities, including student exchanges, short-term programs, and double degree pathways. Such initiatives provide students with valuable international exposure and broaden their perspectives in the industrial and technological sectors.
