“Who says Entrepreneurship belongs only to businessman? Entrepreneurship is not a profession. Entrepreneurship is a way of looking at life, patterns of thought and attitudes. Because with entrepreneurship you can become not only an entrepreneur, but also an intrapreneur, edupreneur even if you manage the country, you can become a qualified statepreneur.”

At this time, Chemical Engineering Department of ITS held the 3rd session soft skills lecture entitled “Why I Am Here? Building Entrepreneurship” presented by Mr. Ir. Sunaryo Suhadi, MBA., Co-Founder and President Commissioner of PT. Arsynergy Resource, Tbk who is also an alumnus of ITS Chemical Engineering, Class of 1977 (K-17). This event was held to provide inspiration and insight into the knowledge and spirit of entrepreneurship to all ITS Chemical Engineering students. Moderated by Mr. Widyo Rulyantoko, ST. (K-33), this event was followed enthusiastically by students, lecturers and several alumni who attended.

Cak Naryo gave an overview of one of the industries currently established, namely PT. Asynergy Resources, Tbk, an LPG processing plant with a capacity of 40 MMSCFD and PT. Energi Nusantara Perkasa, an LPG processing plant with a capacity of 140 MMSCFD. This K-17 alumnus told his story when he founded his first EPC company in 1986 with 5 colleagues, where he was 33 years old. Interestingly, he also shared his experiences when he became a student activist and became an employee at PT. Pupuk Iskandar Muda when he just graduated from ITS Chemical Engineering. At first, his entrepreneurial skill was not possessed when he was a student or employee. After developing an EPC company contractor, his entrepreneurial skill began to grow and develop. Currently, with Prof. Rhenald Kasali (Professor of UI) and Cak Eko, Cak Naryo founded an entrepreneur training company “Rhenald Kasali School of Entrepreneur (RKSE)”.

According to him, entreneurship is continuously creative and innovative in seeing and creating opportunities, and being able to realize them into something that is more valuable economically, socially and ecologically. There are 2 ways to become an entrepreneur, by accident (recessive condition) and by design (programming yourself to become an entrepreneur). Several factors to generate entrepreneurial spirit: 1. Internal Energy Ability, 2. Right Brain Ability. The ability of internal energy is required to maintain self-motivation and overcome external obstacles and be able to realize a business. The ability of the right brain can spark the intuition, creative, innovative that is required to read and seize opportunities.

Very lucky to have the opportunity to get inspiration, knowledge, insights and experiences about entrepreneurship as proven by several companies founded by Cak Naryo.

Thank you very much Cak Naryo for the sharing. Hopefully healthy and successful always. (RPA).
