The field of chemical engineering has broadened from the traditional one, that typically based on petroleum and petrochemical industries, to be an interdisciplinary area. We aim to advance chemical engineering education through research on synthesis and characterization of new electrode materials to the design of industrial electrochemical reactors.
The research interests of the Electrochemical Engineering Laboratory range from synthesis and characterization of new electrode materials to to the design of industrial electrochemical reactors. Research in our group centers around nanoparticles and nanostructure porous materials derived from biomass and natural resources for their applications in electrochemical energy storage and conversion technology.
Are you interested in obtaining master or doctoral degree in chemical engineering? We accept students from industries (master/doctor) with a flexibility doing their project on site. Please contact us with your curriculum vitae.

Cellulose aerogel has excellent properties due to its very high surface area and large pore volume. We developed a process to manufacture such materials from coir fiber and other abundant natural biomass. The aerogel have many potential applications such as adsorbent for dyes and absorbent for oil spill. It may be carbonized to produce carbon aerogel having extraordinary properties suitable for many applications. Read more
