The Autonomous Profile of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering Department is a reflection of the quality achievement expected from a graduate of the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering after a career in the profession for 3-5 years. The Autonomous Profile of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering Department is based on an analysis of industrial needs associated with the material and Metallurgical Engineering scientific fields as on the ITS Vision and Mission .

The determination of PPM involves all stakeholders including lecturers, industry, alumni and also government agencies. Materials and Metallurgical Engineering Department establishes 3 Independent Professional Profiles, namely:

1. Individuals who are able to solve problems in managing and utilizing local, national and global resources based on the principles of basic science and materials and metallurgical engineering
2. Individual who has good moral personality and leadership, able to communicate and solving in task in organization considering profession ethics and other ethic.
3. Individual who is able to do continuous self improvement.

The Independent Professional Profile Understanding Survey is addressed to all stakeholders of the Materials Engineering Undergraduate Study Program including Students, Lecturers, Education Personnel, Alumni/Graduates, and Users (Graduated Users). This survey measures the level of understanding of stakeholders in the Materials Engineering Undergraduate Study Program on the Independent Professional Profile.
