Writing Center International Forum: Policy Formulation of AI Adaptation in Higher Education Institutions

Academic Writing Center (AWC) of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is committed to engage in dialog, discussions, and development of possible policy in the use of AI in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Writing Center International Forum: Policy Formulation of AI Adaptation in Higher Education Institutions will be a pivotal platform for stakeholders to collaboratively explore and discuss AI policies in HEIs. Having educational policies is the key to effective education and as a way to protect all stakeholders. Ai is considered a moving target, and waiting is not the answer.

This forum offers more than just panel discussions; it also welcomes individual or group presenters to share their insights and suggest AI policy in HEI. If you are interested in presenting, here is how you can get involved:

  1. Abstract. Begin by writing an abstract that outlines the essence of your presentation. Make sure it aligns with the theme and scope of the forum. Use the abstract template that you can download here https://its.id/AbstractTemplateAWCForum
Submit your abstract through the link on this page.
  2. Abstract Review. Once you have submitted your abstract, it will be reviewed and the result will be sent to your email.
  3. Abstract Acceptance. The accepted abstract will be announced through your email.
  4. Presentation. If you are accepted to be the presenter in this forum, write a presentation according to the presentation template that you can download here https://its.id/TemplatePPT_AWCForum
  5. Presentation submission. Send your presentation document (ppt.) to the provided submission link in this page.

The presentation will explore a range of scopes, including but not limited to:

    1. Generative AI policy in different HEI practices,
    2. Using AI for Language Translation and Localization in HEI,
    3. Delineating research writing policy in HEI,
    4. Establishing HEI course policies for writing with AI, and
    5. Evaluating student writing in an AI era, in HEI
    6. Based on the topic you choose, you must suggest ai policy regarding the issue. For example, your presentation is about Students using ChatGPT to write essays for class assignment. At the end of your presentation, suggest a policy about the use of AI in this case “students are allowed to use AI only to help edit grammar. If the essay is detected made by AI, students will have to rewrite their entire essay”
