Nawasena ITS team has won first place in the 2024 International Student Design Competition organized by the Worldwide Ferry Safety Association (WFSA) in the USA. Their innovative design, the MV Queen Nneka ferry, is intended to sail on the Niger River and aligns with global goals for producing environmentally friendly vessels. In collaboration with the Interferry Conference 2024, the Nawasena ITS team and other winners will be invited to present their designs in Marrakesh, Morocco, from October 26-30, 2024. A proud moment for their alma mater and Indonesia on the international stage!
The Department of Automation Electrical Engineering (DTEO) at ITS successfully held the Final Project Exhibition and Competition (FIPEC) 2024. This exhibition showcased hundreds of student projects from various cohorts, including posters, prototypes, and finished products. The event demonstrated that students' competencies can be applied to solve real-world problems through laboratory and project-based learning. It is hoped that this event will not only showcase student works but also help them understand their field from a professional perspective. Vivat ITS!
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at ITS hosted a guest lecture to further explore the strength of composite structures in transportation for developing lightweight, efficient, and eco-friendly vehicles. This event featured Professor Brian G Falzon from Western Sydney University, Australia. The primary focus of the lecture was on composite materials consisting of matrices and reinforcing fibers. Prof. Brian supported collaboration in ongoing research on the crashworthiness of carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP).
